They're working the hell out of I-20 east of Birmingham; I-59 up to Chattanooga used to be so bad that the right lane was uninhabitable due to failed expansion joint and sunken slabs. All traffic ran in the left lane and passed on the right...

yeah. I was seeing entire lanes of traffic merging to the left for no reason other than getting off the rough pavement.
